Our books on the NAR recognized by World Magazine

My BooksWorld Magazine has again recognized my book A New Apostolic Reformation?: A Biblical Response to a Worldwide Movement, co-authored with Biola professor Doug Geivett. Our book is featured in the magazine’s latest issue, along with three other titles, in “Books of Popular Theology.” Here’s an excerpt from the article:

Is God actually sending hundreds of authoritative apostles and prophets to transform the church more deeply than He did in the Protestant Reformation? Is He building an end-time army that will bring whole nations to Christ through televised miracles greater than any in the Bible? The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), a global movement, says yes. Scripture says no. So do mainstream charismatic and Pentecostal churches, as well as every other historic branch of Christianity. NAR apostles are from men and through man, and their prophets make false predictions, as Geivett and Pivec systematically demonstrate. Beware the leaven of the NAR. (Read the full article here.)

Last year another article in World Magazine, written by well-known pastor and blogger Tim Challies, featured our other book on the New Apostolic Reformation, God’s Super-Apostles. This second book provides a brief introduction to the New Apostolic Reformation, while the larger volume, A New Apostolic Reformation?, goes into much greater detail explaining and evaluating the teachings of NAR leaders on the basis of Scripture and careful reasoning. If you haven’t yet read them, I urge you to do so. This global, spiritually dangerous movement needs to be on the radar of every Christian.

Yes, it is very good that they recognize your books. I have read both of them and it helped me to understand pentecostal and NAR movement but those negative contructive critical commentaries is like throwing the baby out with washing water. Because if there is so called wrong apostles then there is also true apostles building up His Church the Body of Christ.

Awesome! Such a great contribution to the need of the hour . . .

  3. Graham Boulden Says:

A good, well argued and constructive assessment of NAR held up to the light of God’s word (per 2 Timothy 3 v 16).

If there were no other causes for concern (and there do appear to be several) then the apostolic decree over the commissioning of Todd Bentley alone should be enough to set alarm bells ringing…..
