Readying the Bride of Christ

February 26th, 2007 | 21 Comments | Posted in Miscellaneous

A couple of weeks ago, I had a dream. I want to share it with readers because I hope it will give insight into my reasons for starting this blog.

I’ve been told that some readers of this blog — members of apostolic-prophetic churches — have been really offended by things I’ve written. This has troubled me because my goal isn’t to offend my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I haven’t updated my blog in the past couple weeks because I wanted to take some time to pray and think about how I can more lovingly and clearly present my concerns about the apostolic-prophetic movement without turning people off. I thought the best way to do that might be to share my dream.

My Dream
Bride I dreamt it was my wedding day. I was busy doing other things when, suddenly, I realized I hadn’t given myself enough time to get dressed for the ceremony.

The guests were gathered inside the church, and the groom was waiting for me at the front. Then, I could hear the piano music start to play. I panicked. I knew that after just a few songs, it would be my cue to walk down the aisle. But I wasn’t even in my wedding dress yet.

I looked down at the street clothes I had on and wondered if I could get by wearing them during the ceremony. But I knew I couldn’t do that: my groom was dressed in a tuxedo. So, I quickly put on my wedding dress. But, it was heavily wrinkled and looked shabby. I hadn’t bothered to have it steam cleaned beforehand.

Then, I looked down at my feet and realized I had forgotten to bring my fancy shoes. I would have to go barefoot. I hoped my long dress would cover my feet so no one would see them.

When I looked in the mirror, I saw my hair wasn’t fixed and my makeup wasn’t on. I had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. I knew my groom would be hurt to find out that I didn’t value our relationship enough to make myself look beautiful for him on our important day. I had put other things before him.

When I woke from the dream, I was sweating and my heart was racing. My own wedding, two years ago, made the dream seem even more personal and relevant to me. As I lay there thinking about the dream, I realized it had biblical symbolism.

Biblical Symbols of Marriage
We, the church, are called the “bride of Christ.” God’s intimate relationship to His people is described — in both the Old and New Testaments — in terms of a marriage (examples: Isaiah 54:5-7; Hosea 2:19; Matthew 22:2-14; Ephesians 5:25-27, 32; Revelation 19:6-9). When Jesus returns for His bride, we will celebrate a great wedding feast with Him (Revelation 19:9).

The Groom expects that His bride will be spiritually ready for Him when He returns. Being ready includes:

• Being dressed in bright, clean, fine linen (which represents good deeds) Revelations 19:6-8

• Having no blemishes or wrinkles (being without sin) Ephesians 5:25-27

• Being a pure virgin (being doctrinally pure) who is devoted to Christ 2 Corinthians 11:2-4. The Bible compares the teachings of false prophets to spiritual adultery (Jeremiah 23:13-14).

• Having oil (representing the Holy Spirit) in our lamps, like the five wise virgins who were waiting for the bridegroom in Matthew 25:1-14

Even though this gets away from bridal imagery, all Christians are supposed to put on the full armor of God that is listed in Ephesians 6, which — as in my dream — includes shoes (shoes represent sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others, according to this passage).

How The Dream Relates to My Blog
When Jesus returns for His bride, it’s going to be too late to get ready for Him — as it was for me in my dream. I can’t forget the panic I felt. Yet, that feeling will be much more intense if we Christians aren’t ready for our Divine Groom. We must get ready now.

This symbolism motivates my ministry. I have great love for the body of Christ and want all Christians to be ready when Christ returns for us. I have a special desire to see the church be spiritually pure when He returns for us, which, I believe, may be soon. (See fulfilledprophecy.com for more on this.)

But false teachings sneak into the church and, sadly, even good Christians can be seduced by them. Paul told the churches in Galatia that he was shocked to see that they were embracing false teachings (Galatians 1:6-7). And even the apostle Peter began promoting false teaching until he was confronted by the apostle Paul (Galatians 2:11-17). If Peter — Christ’s chosen leader of the early church — could be temporarily deceived by false teaching, then no Christian is immune from it — not you or me. So, all of us need to watch our doctrine closely, as Paul instructed his young disciple Timothy (1 Timothy 4:16). I frequently pray that God will keep me from believing wrong beliefs about Him and the world.

That’s the goal of my blog: to help Christians guard against serious doctrinal error that can hurt their relationships with Christ. Please don’t misunderstand me: I’m not saying that members of apostolic-prophetic churches aren’t Christians. Quite the opposite: many of them are sincere, committed, beautiful, loving Christians. I’m also not saying that apostolic-prophetic churches are the only ones with doctrinal error. Sadly, there are a lot of false teachings in the church.

The reasons I focus on this particular doctrinal error are because so few people are addressing it and because this movement is growing so quickly. It’s been embraced in many charismatic churches, which are the fastest-growing churches in the world, according to church growth researchers, like David Barrett.

C. Peter Wagner headshot Many of the Christians who attend apostolic-prophetic churches don’t know that some of the teachings are the same teachings of the Latter Rain Movement of the 1940s — a movement that the majority of Christians, back then, rejected as seriously errant. The “apostolic-prophetic movement” and “New Apostolic Reformation” are simply new names given to these old teachings. Don’t take my word for it: some of the most prominent leaders in the apostolic-prophetic movement, like C. Peter Wagner (pictured here), openly admit that their teachings are the same old Latter Rain teachings. (See Wagner’s 2004 book, Changing Church, published by Regal Books.)

One of these teachings is that all Christians must submit to modern apostles and prophets who have unquestioned authority and the ability to give new doctrine to the church that can’t be found in the Bible.

Of course, not all Christians who attend apostolic-prophetic churches accept this teaching. In fact, I believe that many members of apostolic-prophetic churches would strongly oppose it. But, some of the most prominent leaders in this movement, like Wagner, do promote this teaching. And Wagner’s teachings are entering many apostolic-prophetic churches — though the teachings aren’t always detected.

This is my concern. I hope my blog will raise awareness about such teachings so they won’t mislead people.

My Heart
Please — if I’ve offended you with my blog — I hope you’ll see that this isn’t my intention. Let’s discuss these issues together, and show me if I’m off base somewhere or if I’m ungracious. As Paul warns, I can have all knowledge in the world — including all doctrinal knowledge (which I certainly don’t have) — but, without love, I’m just making a lot noise. I don’t want to be a noisemaker.

I think my post called “Holly’s Top 7 Prophecies for 2007” was especially offensive to some readers. I meant to use humor to highlight some of the movement’s errors. Perhaps my poking fun was unkind and, if it was, I’m sorry.

Some of the comments posted by readers of my blog, sadly, have resorted to unkind personal attacks and judgments against people in apostolic-prophetic churches. I don’t support such comments and I’ve even deleted some that, I felt, crossed a line.

Yet, as long as the comments are civil, I rarely delete them — whether they’re made by people who oppose or support the apostolic-prophetic movement. That’s because I want this blog to be a place where people from all sides can come together and discuss these important issues.

I know that some people will perceive all criticism as unloving, no matter how gently it is given. But my prayer is that — in sharing my concerns about this movement — my love for Christ’s body will be apparent.

Dear Holly: Please do not make the error of listening to the enemy. I have confronted many times false teachings, one this past week was from a lady at church who attempeted to tell me that the catholic church does not pray to Mary. We are warned by The apostles, the real apostles of the Bible, about false teachers and teachings. Look what Paul tells us in 2 Cor 11;5-15, especially verse 14.

The enemy has in so many ways attacked me spiritually for this and it makes you think am I prideful etc, I have felt broken and to the point of tears, yet Jude tells us to contend for the faith Jude 3. Satan’s weapons is false doctrine and false teachers and thier false teachings.

Holly, you are in good company here, many Believers have and do go through allot of pain due to satan and his lies. 1 Peter 5:5-11. If you are going to defend the Word of God you will be persecuted, look at The Lord Himself, cruicifed Matthew 27:26.

Holly, these people who deny the Lord’s diety for sinful gain are like the rich man who would not sell all he had, even when instructed to by The Lord Matthew 19:16-22, he the rich man chose the wide road Matthew 7:13-14. He, I am sure unless he repented Matthew 4:17 and was Born again John 3:3 & 7 is where the rich man is Luke 16:19-31.

Holly, The Lord was tempetd by Satan Matthew 4:1-11, told He was one with satan Mark 3:22, accused of bieng a drunkerd and a glutton Luke 7:34, He was beaton and bruised for us Isaiah 52:13-53:12. He was disbelieved by His earthly family Matthew 12:46-50. He healed many, He shed His Blood for all sinners and yet this ungodly world and it’s leader satan persecuted Him. Satan persecutes you, especially as you are challanging his lies and his liers, namely his false teachers.

Holly look at Paul, Phillipians 1:12-18, and Paul refers to these people, false teachers in Phillipians 3:17-19, thier god is satan and thier end is destruction. Satan used these same lies in Genesis 3, yet what did Our Lord say, Genesis 3:15″ and I will put enmity between you and the women, and between your seed and her Seed…

Holly, satan knows that he was defeated there and then the final blow for him came at the resurrection Matthew 28:6. We are Saved by The Lord’s Blood, Romans 5:9, By His Grace Ephesians 1:6, 2:6, 2:8-9. We are sealed by The Holy Spirit,Ephesians 4:30. The Cross-His death, Matthew 27:50, His burial, Matthew 27:60 and His glorius ressurection, Matthew 28:6. We who are born again John 3:3 & 7, have Him living in us forever John 14:20-23, Revelation 3:20, and we are fully annointed with and in Him forever 1 John 2:20 & 27. We are Saved forever never to be blotted out of the book of life, Revelation 3:5. We who are Saved because of the finished work of The Cross, and our faith in The finished work of The Cross, especially in the one who died for us, Our Lord and Our God John 20:28. We are children born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor the will of man, but of God, John 1:13 He has given us His authority over the enemy Luke 10:19.

Holly, remember bieng Saved comes with a price and the more you do the work of The Lord the more the persecutions will and do come from satan. Satan is angry as he knows what we know his time is short Revelation 12:12, and he is defeated Revelation 20:1-3 and 20:10. Please remember Jude 9 and rebuke him, he is a liar John 8:44 and he will attack you, Matthew 4:1-10, and he is looking to devour whoever he can, 1 Peter 5:8, yet you can resist him steadfast in your faith In The Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Peter 5:9-11. Trust in the Lord and let Him do it for you, remember He is in total control, Romans 8:28 and Psalms 37:1-9.

Holly, if any of these people who call themselves Brothers or Sisters in The Lord read this and disagree because of thier false teachings, please let The Lord and His Word The Bible, convict them of thier sinful behaviour,
1 Corinthians 5:5. And count yourself worhty to have suffered for The Lord Acts 5:41.

I use the New King James Version

    Dear Holly

I totally agree with what David said. I’ve never sensed any offense in your posts. It was humble of you to share your fear and feelings with us, but those who want to live a Godly life will be prosecuted.

Keep bringing error to the light of God’s Word. The servant is not better of than his Master. I do not read that Jesus was worried about offending Scribes and Pharisees. He did it with love, but did not compromise. I stand with you.

    God bless you,

  3. Brother Marty Says:

How I found myself here, I do not know. But responding to your post is something I must do. Please, trust your heart, your spirit, and your relationship with God, Almighty, in carving out your personal relationship with Christ.

I cannot address your denomination struggles, but will offer up the hope that God will speak to us, individually, and comfort each of us, regardless of our struggles. Please, keep your eye on the love of God, through Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit…and you will be perfectly fine in the eyes of our savior.

Thank you for such a revealing post. Since you’re mysteriously bookmarked in my browser…I’ll be back. Till then…remain convicted in the love of our Lord being paramount…above all…in service to God Almighty.

If you ask for prayer…it will be given. If you ask for support it will be given. Just serve, dear servant, and you will have all you seek.

Thanks for sharing what most are afraid to share. God Bless You!

  4. amy Says:

Holly, I hear your heart. Do not allow their offense to bring you fear–but fear the Lord. The dream the Lord allowed you to have brings fear to my own heart as I identify by not being ready as I ought– becoming tangled by worldly ideologies that pass away and are not eternal. My eyes have looked around me rather than upward to Him for strength. I hear your heart–you love the church and I hear it as you write–but do not be deceived by the fear they attempt to cast upon you by their aimless chatter–fear the Lord who is able to save or crush a soul by just one Word. I have heard this scripture (Isaiah 8:13) twice now as i ponder your blog– i hope it ministers to your heart.

    Isaiah 8:13-22
13 The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow;Let Him be your fear,And let Him be your dread.14 He will be as a sanctuary,But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense To both the houses of Israel,As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.15 And many among them shall stumble; They shall fall and be broken,Be snared and taken.”
16 Bind up the testimony,Seal the law among my disciples.17 And I will wait on the LORD,Who hides His face from the house of Jacob; And I will hope in Him.18 Here am I and the children whom the LORD has given me!We are for signs and wonders in IsraelFrom the LORD of hosts,Who dwells in Mount Zion.
19 And when they say to you,”Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
21 They will pass through it hard-pressed and hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry, that they will be enraged and curse their king and their God, and look upward.22 Then they will look to the earth, and see trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they will be driven into darkness.

    1 Peter 2:4-10
Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.6 Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,

    “Behold, I lay in Zion
    A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”
7 Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,
“The stone which the builders rejected
    Has become the chief cornerstone,”
    8 and

    “A stone of stumbling
    And a rock of offense.”
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

    Philippians 1:9-11
9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

    Romans 9:30-33
What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith;31 but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone.33 As it is written:

“Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense,
And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

    Isaiah 8:12-22
12 “Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy,Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.13 The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow;Let Him be your fear,And let Him be your dread.14 He will be as a sanctuary,But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense To both the houses of Israel,As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.15 And many among them shall stumble; They shall fall and be broken,Be snared and taken.”
16 Bind up the testimony,Seal the law among my disciples.17 And I will wait on the LORD,Who hides His face from the house of Jacob; And I will hope in Him.18 Here am I and the children whom the LORD has given me!We are for signs and wonders in Israel From the LORD of hosts, Who dwells in Mount Zion.
19 And when they say to you,”Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
21 They will pass through it hard-pressed and hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry, that they will be enraged and curse their king and their God, and look upward.22 Then they will look to the earth, and see trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they will be driven into darkness.

    bless you sister…

  5. Irene Says:

The main sticking point for all the money grubbers who make a living off of selling their dreams and visions on the Elijah list is this:

The doctrinal conundrum is that there seems to be no evidence for the “office of the Prophet” as spelled out in the Old Testament, so there seems to be no clear New Testement prooftext for testing modern day “prophets” or prophecies such as Cyndy Jacobs, Jill Austin, Chuck Pierce, etc.,

I was appalled when I read Rick Joyner’s recent Elijah List entry on the “wheat and the tares”. Joyner actually seems to be attacking the Word of God as to say that Paul was “arrogant” in his early days as a preacher and got more humble as time went on. Joyner spells this falsehood out so as to excuse the “mistakes” of his modern day cohorts in crime, his Elijah List money grubbing profiteering prophets — who’s prophetic words have been lukewarm pastiches of Biblical sounding gobbledygoop of late. Joyner goes on to arrogantly denigrate the word of God by pulling Pauls references to his own status as one of the Saints as a sign of his maturation by the end of his life when he seemingly contradicts himself and just says he is the worst of all sinners. Joyner tries to establish some sort of arrogance to humilty thread in Paul’s personal walk with God and thereby Joyner is trying to plead with the Elijah list people to similarly be kind to their prophets who have made mistakes.

Joyner takes the word of God out of context by then comparing these Elijah list “ministries” to the parable of the wheat and the tares… that it won’t be until the fullness of time that we know who is falsely prohecying or who is not — the tares grow up with the wheat — but woe to any Elijah List devotee who does not support a good “wheat” ministry of a true prophect

My question remains: WHERE in scripture does it say that there is an employment contract for modern day prophets in the church?

    This is the sticking point.

God is not fooled by Cyndy Jacobs, Peter Wagner, Che Ahn. We must be discerning and be on guard. I am simply disgusted by Rick Joyner’s misuse of his spiritual giftings in the way he has twisted scripture to justify the failures of the Elijah List Thugs in the Spirit. these people have no love and no authority. They are about fleecing the flock and speaking into people’s deepest desires and promises in God. We must stay on guard against these so called Christians who are really motivational speakers in disguise.

“Follow the money” is what God is telling me. Is Che Ahn more concerned about his new expensive mortgage on his acquistion of the Pasadena Civic Auditorium than his flock? Would seem so.

To minister to people you must carry their burdens with them.

PS In God’s kingdom, there is no such thing as a “paid intercessor”‘ either. It nulifys the sacrifice of prayer, and yet, Todd Bently and other Elijah List clowns promote this dispicable practices as if God were a prayer formula! UNREAL SPIRITUAL PRIDE.

Again, follow the money. False teachers and the Pharasaical Spirit will always bow the knee to Mammon.

  6. David Says:

    Please remember there is a standard, Psalms 62:12,Ecclesiastes 11:9-10, Ecclesiastes12:13-14, Isaiah 3:17, Romans 2:16, 12:11,
    1 Corinthians 3:13-15, 6:2-3, 2 Corinthians 5:9-10, Hebrews 9:27, 10:31 Revelation 20:11-15.

We will all stand before The Lord and recieve punishment or rewards, The Lord has His own standards, so these people will get away with nothing, in fact all those of us, The Lord’s Saints, we will judge these people
1 Corinthians 6:2-3. These false teachers really are only hurting themselves and thier eternal destination, and hey they will take thier deceptive and wicked ways and works with them.

I am asking every false teacher out there, you know who you are based on The Word of God, you know the Bible. You pretend to preach from it every week, please read and re-read Psalms 37:21, “The wicked borrow and do not repay…” In these cases these people, the false teachers are borrowing The Lord’s Word and not feeding people the truth, and in essence you borrow wickedly and do not repay The Lord with telling the truth.

The wicked will perish, Psalm 1:6, Luke 16:19-26. Look at Psalms 49, they are doing what The catholic church has done for years preaching salvation through false lies, 1-Mary 2-Buying favours 3-The pope or thier priest
4-baby baptism and so on. The catholic church which as any real Christian knows is a not a Christian church, and never will be. I bring this up because the catholic church is a prime example of false teaching with false teachers. This church is an apostate church, always has been and always will be. The pope is a heratic and teaches heresies. The main point is this the catholic church and for that matter The JW’s and Mormons based on The Bible, God’s Standard’s are wicked and will perish.

So you see Irene, there is and always will be standards that God will judge these people by.

Irene, I know some catholics, JW’s, Mormon’s, the prophetic movement etc will probably refute what I wrote and probably write me back in anger and accuse me of blasphemy, etc so be it, yet the truth is the truth, and like Holly who is under attack from satan and his children the false teachers and false teachings and thier churches such as catholic, JW, Mormon and the prophetic movement etc. I know that if I am going to like so many of my sisters and brothers in The Lord Jesus Christ, expose the truth of these heretics and thier false teachers and teachings I am subject to the same spiritual attacks as well. That is okay as long as people know the truth then let the attacks come.

Jesus Christ is Lord not Mary, who by the way had other children after The Virgin birth of Our Lord, Matthew 12:48, Matthew 13:55-56, and she is not The mother of God, God has not, nor never will have a mother. Mary in fact needed to be saved from her sins, as the Bible says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and that includes Mary, Jesus earthly mother Romans 3:23 and not Josheph Smith who is in hell and not the leaders of The JW’s who also are sitting in Hell with Joseph Smith and all the pope’s and people of the prophetic movement who did not repent and recieve Jesus Christ as thier Lord and Savior.

Remember judgement day is coming for everyone and these people are not immuned, in fact I would suggest that every real Born again Christian
John 3:3 & 7 right now as they read this pray for these people to repent and recieve The Lord Jesus Christ into thier hearts, and those of who I speak that fall into the catagory of false teachers with false teachings, please repent before it is to late, as The Bible says ” It is appointed unto all men and women to die once then Judgement Hebrews 9:27 and “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” Hebrews 10:31.
Remember Jesus Christ is Lord, God and Savior 1 Timothy 4:10 and
John 20:28. He died was buried and rose again for the sins of the world, he paid the price for us, not anyone else. Why don’t you, if you have not already ask Jesus Christ into your heart this very moment, as your Lord and Savior.

    In Christ

God bless you Holly! When I read your posts, I am reminded of Paul’s statement to the Galations – “Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?”

The weak, greedy, self-serving and social gospel taking over the churches of this nation is setting many up to hear “go away, I never knew you”.

“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” Matt.24:11-13

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Rev. 3:22

  8. Irene Says:

Here is the thing I want from the Elijah Listers…

I want a COMPLETE transcript of EVERY and I mean EVERY prophecy EVER given by Jill Austen,

    Cyndy Jacobs

Rick Joyner et all. And how about the fact that Bob Jones was thrown out of the Anaheim Vineyard for telling women they had to “be naked in front of the Lord” LITERALLY in his personal office?

After we TASTE TEST AND SEE if the prophecies of Jacobs et all are true — then we will be able to judge them.

I’m waiting for their FABULOUS publication of all their prophetic words showing off how God has gifted them.

C’mon Cyndy and Jill and Rick and Bob… let’s hear it. You are the end time prophets? All anointed and stuff? Okay

Hello Everyone especially all my Brothers and Sisters in The Lord Jesus Christ: I will be brief. I have given allot of thought and prayer to what we all comment on good, bad or in between. I have decided that after prayer I am and so are most of us reacting to so many things on this blog. We are all in our minds and hearts to one degree or another right.

The point I am trying to make, would it not be wiser for all of us to stop trying to get points across about people and instead concentrate how we could encourage one another in The Word. I know that there are many false teachers and false works, yet do you not think it would be wiser to follow Jesus example and pray for people who we feel are in error of scripture Matthew 5:43-48. If they are wrong, The Lord will, as always, deal with them and thier works, He will deny them Matthew 7:21-23 and Romans 12:19-20. If we go even further we see His example on the Cross
    Luke 23:34.

I can speak from personal experience here as I am as wrong as anyone else, and as Jesus also reminds us in Matthew 5:14-16 we are His light, the light of the world, and we are to shine for Him so as to glorify The Father in heaven.

I pray that we can turn Holly’s wonderful blog into an encouraging spirit filled site for one another. It would be so wonderful if others would read this blog and write comments like Trust in the Lord, I recieved Christ today, I was water baptised today, etc.

Thank you all and God Bless

    Your Brother in The Lord

  11. Stan Says:

    Dear Holly,

Don’t apologize for your satirical prophecies. Those celebrity pretenders like Hamon, Wagner, Pierce, Joyner, Sheets deserve that and worse with their preposterous posturing (alliteration deliberate). You pinned them to the wall with those. I said, “Go get ’em, Holly.” Remember that Elijah mocked the prophets of Baal with searing sarcasm and Paul used sarcasm in 2 Corinthians 11 and 12, for examples. Even Jesus used it on the Pharisees in Matt. 23:24. There is a time and occasion for it, and it’s way overdue in the church. These deceivers are getting away with theft and murder with not a peep from the pulpits. Remember that John 10:10a is not about the devil, it’s about men in leadership.

So, keep fighting the good fight. When you need to use sarcasm, employ it. You are not a mean person, so I don’t think you would ever use it to hurt the hurting. However, use it to “smart” those smart-alecks.

    Dear Holly,

Your blog is a breath of fresh air. My sister has sadly been caught up in the apostles and prophets movement for some time now and I find your posts on that subject in particular to be insightful, scholarly and well-written.

I LOVED the top 7 prophecies for 2007 (though I’m still waiting to see if more Wal-Marts do indeed appear in more cities … JUST KIDDING). The Lord has raised you up for this hour, Holly. Your voice is much needed. I agree with my friend Stan (previous post). Your blog is not mean-spirited at all and the top 7 prophecies were not either. Your use of satire was approporiate and effective.

In Eccl. 3, we’re reminded that there is a season for everything and a time for every purpose under the heaven. There is a time to refrain from embracing, a time to rend, a time to speak, a time for war. Holly, this is your time to speak. The Lord has given you this platform and I believe He is using you in ways you are probably not aware of. Keep fighting the good fight and contending for the faith and know that there are many fellow believers in many places who appreciate you and benefit from the fruits of your labors in His Name.

    Hi Holly,

An addendum to the last post.

I am on the horns of a serious dilemma and you may be able to help me out. If I sow Starbuck coffee beans, can I get my seven-fold return in raspberry mocha frappuccino or would that be too much of a paradigm shift? Just thought I’d ask.

um….would you consider your dream prophetic? or simply an overdose of coffee and wedding magazines?
Just a thought – because I am slightly confused as to how your dream is any different to one by someone labeled as ‘apostolic-prophetic’?

If God is infinite do you not suppose he has an infinte number of things to say? John 21v25
And these may very well be communicated through dreams, visions, angels, prophets and well even a donkey?

    Just a thought
Great blog by the way – it is sad how some people can’t take a joke. and how others are just downright NASTy!

are you saying that christians are brides of christ?

  16. John Says:

Most critics doubt sings and wonders, or want them to manifest the way they think would be right. Which is actually unbelieve in that God can move the way He wants to. Most critics doubt ministers and label them ‘false’ prophets or whatever, because they don’t agree on certain points. In doing this, you throw away the baby with the bath water.

Please stop being a fool, God is not mocked. He who judges, will be judged himself. Why not trust the Holy Spirit and rely on the Lord and His angelic hosts to be the police force within the body of Christ?

So, let’s live the truth of the Bible and stop pointing fingers. We will be accountable only for that which we ourselfs have said or done. The day of reconing is coming, also for you doubters and critics!

I LOVE this… BEAUTIFUL…AND SOOOOO TRUE! Thank you for reminding me how READY we need to be!!! We CANNOT go about our lives – shopping, get togethers with friends, going out on the weekends, tv shows & running errands and fussing over all our duties here & there(and even WORRY-which we are not supposed to do by the way- about financial things, etc…)and everything else that we get caught up in that KEEPS US from drawing NEARER to Him…To where we put God on the back burner! HE MUST come first!

I believe a lot of the thinggs here on earth are DISTRACTIONS… Even if you’re not living in outright sin- you can easily get caught up in fashion, fancy cars, beauty, pride, ‘caring what everyone else thinks about you and not so much what God thinks about you’… etc.

People should spend more time wondering what they’re doing that makes HIM happy and what they’re doing that GOD would not like them doing and that upsets HIM and stopping doing it! … Because it says in the Bible ‘Every hidden thing will be brought to light’

This includes pornography and sodomy that even married people do in their rooms…It says to keep the marriage bed pure and undefiled! I just felt I should include this because I feel sadly the devil has convinced people IF they are being faithful to their spouse, they can get as ‘nasty’ as they want… But Gods Word clearly says we are to be pure in ALL conduct.

You should add my email to your updates or whatever… I would really like to read more of your blogs like this one! THanks! -Catrina-

PS…Dont listen to these people who trashtalk…Because speaking of prophetic things, my daughter who was 7 years old at the time- it was about 6 mos or so ago- had a vision of the catching away of the church up to Christ in the sky! She said everyone was wearing ‘shiny’ clothes!

Holly said “As Paul warns, I can have all knowledge in the world — including all doctrinal knowledge (which I certainly don’t have) — but, without love, I’m just making a lot noise. I don’t want to be a noisemaker.”

Love is not a feeling or emotion, love is truth.

This means that speaking the truth IS love, and those that don’t want the truth scream because they don’t love the truth!

Yay Holly.  You had a bride of Christ vision.

I have been suffering alot in my family due to my involvement with bible prophecy.  It’s a long story that I won’t get into here.  But, on a couple of occasions when I was really, really down and I cried out to God what is all this chaos in my life for and why are these people (family included) turning against me??  He answered me with a vision on two different occasions.  The first was a vision and the second was a dream.  They both involved a bridal gown.  The first vision I was pressing the wrinkles out of the dress with my hands.  The second vision came much later and the bridal gown had made much progress.

He is a good God.  God had compassion for me and He answered my prayer. 🙂

    Bless You!
