Laura,

Rather than giving remarks of how you fear for me and how ignorant you think I am, would you at least try to remove the personal criticisms and try to stay on trackt? Do you really think all of that is needed to show us what the Bible says about the subject?

You have no reason to fear for me... Jesus Christ is my Lord and He alone can judge my heart and the rest of mankind.

Hi Jody,

So if I show you examples from the Bible of true prophets who’s words did not come to pass as they said, you will consider that to be proof that God’s prophet’s words may not always come to pass, and that he does is not suddenly considered a false prophet for it?

WOW!
I really fear for you!
your words show a severe lack of the fear of the Lord and for his word.

Yep and if you are taking it out of context...I will refute it.

~~~~~
It does not say anything to the effect of “if his words do not come to pass then he is a false prophet”. It says to HAVE NO FEAR OF HIM.
~~~~~

It is your prerogative to split hairs...but understand...you are twisting the verse to suit your own desires and deep down you know this.

If the prophecy didnt comes to pass....then the prophet is a liar....common sense tells us that if he is a liar thus..he isnt speaking for God so Gods people are to have no fear of him. They are only to fear..thus heed... the warnings and prophecies of a true man of God.

If the prophecy didnt come to pass....then the people were told not to have any fear of said prophet....the prophet was not of God and was at that time to be killed for trying to turn people away from God and His commands to them.

But now.....now God will deal with them directly.

Said prophet had proven himself a liar and had propesied the wicked desires of his own heart. He thru this is causeing Gods name to be profaned and because of this the way of truth is spoken of evily.
His objective is to draw away a following for himself. This prophet decieves by having a form of Godliness but in reality denys the power there of.

We then can turn the situation around....what about when the words of a false prophet do come to pass?

Then we have to consider if the prophet is of God or not...setting the "fulfilled" prophecy aside and considering what they teach about God....if anything. We have to use the same standard that the Bereans used against Paul.

This is a sticky situation for the unlearned and the unbeliever...who unlike the bereans have no firm knowledge of the written word.
The prophecy does seem to come to pass......so they have to ponder the fact that someone may have come preaching another god or is teaching somehting that is in conflict with the commands of God.

This will determine where their heart is....since they have no tangible way to discern the facts for themselves they will have turn to God in faith for the truth....or they will be easily swayed and begin to follow the false prophet.

God very clearly says that this type of prophet came with the express purpose of leading the people astray...the fact that his prophecy came to pass means that he had some help.....thru trickery thus satan himself is leading and guiding the prophet.

This type of prophet is spoken of in revelation....it will be this sort of prophet that gets everyone...execpt those who faithfully keep the word of God and the faith and testimony of Jesus.... to worship the beast.

Those who know their God....will not fall for these false prophets in fact they will shine a light on them for all to see....the only ones in danger from these types are those who are ignorant of Gods word.

Once those who are ignorant of Gods word have been informed so that they can make their own decision about the situation....if they continue to oppose themselves and go after the false ones....their blood will be upon their own heads and they will answer to God for it.

These are false prophets that you are taking up for Matrix....they have a form of Godliness...but they deny the power there of. They deny that God can get His word across exactly as He meant it and that He can cause it to come to pass exactly as He has said. And you are helping them by taking up for them....God will render unto all who do such things the reward deserved for their works.

Why would you take up for men such as these?

They will not profit themselves or anyone else who follows after them.

Eze 13:22
Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad,
whom I have not made sad;
and strengthened the hands of the wicked,
that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

Eze 13:23
Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations:

for I will deliver my people out of your hand:

and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Act 20:26
Wherefore I testify unto you this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
Act 20:27
For I shrank not from declaring unto you the whole counsel of God.

Dear Jody,

I agree with the scriptures you shared, but the problem is Deu 18:21-22 nor any of the others makes the point that you are trying to make. It does not say anything to the effect of "if his words do not come to pass then he is a false prophet". It says to HAVE NO FEAR OF HIM. Some here on this forum seem to not be heeding those words. Is this not God's word and His way to deal with it?

Should I repost the scriptures I have found?

Yes...I for one would like to see where it is written that a prophet who speaks for God...doesnt have to be 100% right.

All I am asking for is that you type out 1 scripture that clearly says as you have stated “the words of a true prophet of God always come to pass 100% of the time”.
~~~~~~
Here is the one statement that you asked for....Im listing it here again.
Deu 18:21
And if you say in your hearts,
How are we to be certain that the word does not come from the Lord?
Deu 18:22
When a prophet makes a statement in the name of the Lord,
if what he says does not take place and his words do not come true,
then his word is not the word of the Lord:
the words of the prophet were said in the pride of his heart,
and you are to have no fear of him.
Jesus said....do not be deceived.
We cant keep that command if the true prophets of God arent always 100% right on.
Pro 14:5
A faithful witness will not lie; But a false witness uttereth lies.
Pro 30:5
Every word of God is tried: He is a shield unto them that take refuge in him.
Pro 30:6
Add thou not unto his words, Lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Even so...believe as you please...as for anyone else reading this...here is some advice.
Jam 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him.
Jam 1:6
But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing,
for he that doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
Jam 1:7
For let not that man suppose that he shall receive anything from the Lord;
he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
